When I first started to get back into art maybe 15 years ago, I was quite serious. I created some large, beautiful works based on my travels, got into galleries, sold some art for prices in the thousands, and I enjoyed it. I still enjoy making larger more “serious” pieces now and then. But as time went by, I found that my calling might be broader than all that. I have a sense of humor and a passion for animals. After eschewing commissions, let alone pet commissions, for years, I finally tested the waters. And now look where I am! I LOVE making commissions and putting animals into my art. I love working on smaller scale pieces that people can more easily afford. And I have completely redefined the meaning of art for myself. It’s unlikely that your true path includes putting dogs into art, but never stop broadening your horizons until you’re having as much fun as a dog with a ball.
